Project Achievements
The project „ Step by Step Forward!” (Financial Contract Number. 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/110/R/036/2015), implemented within NGO program supported by EU Structural Funds and Government of Latvia, has come to its end.
During 2015 LBKT has been cooperating with 18 NGOs from all over Latvia. The financial support of charity organization Ziedot.lv, Latvian Children Fund, Lion Fund Riga and Charity Fund of Rietumu Bank has helped to implement project activities. In collaboration with Auce’s disabled union „Māriņas”, Valmiera’s disabled union and union from Madona “Mēs saviem bērniem” exchange of experience in inclusive education, culture, rehabilitation services sectors has been organized. The cooperation between Latvian Diabetes Federation, Dyslexia Union, people with disabilities and their friend union Apeirons and union “Eņģeļi pār mums” developed in NGO policy development and decision-making processes. Cooperation with NGO platform Latvian Parent Forum and union “Oranžais stars” was provided to ensure the target group interests in inclusive education. Collaboration with union Special Aids Park has helped to provide the necessary technical aids for the project target group. Also collaboration with union Dr. Clown, Gentle Dog, EAPN-LATVIA, Children and Adolescent Diabetes Association of Latvia, union of Emmi Pikler has taken place.
This year Pikler wooden rehabilitation equipment was purchased for physiotherapy sessions with children as well as biofeedback to help children and young people with disabilities to learn how to control own body better. Also union premises have new conference chairs which will help to organize various seminars and group sessions more successfully.
The events organized by union in 2015 would not have been possible without contributors and sponsors! More than 14 contributors and sponsors were attracted to carry out NGO’s activities. The funds were raised cooperating with fund “Ziedot.lv”, Riga City Council, Charity Fund of Rietumu Bank, Lion Club Riga, „Staburadzes konditoreja” Ltd., “NP FOOD Ltd., “Laima” Ltd., “Gutta” Ltd., NP Food Ltd., Latvian Railways, “Latvijas gāze” and others. Thanks to the donations the union could do the following attract co-financing for Biofeedback, hold the Christmas event, events of Mother Day and Father Day, summer camp and educational excursion to Lithuania, as well as transfer of various products (biscuits, beverages, stationery etc.) to union’s families.
The union would like to express thanks to all the volunteers who made time to take part in the NGOs’ events. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Summer Rehabilitation camp and other events would have been impossible without the volunteers’ help!
Estimated costs for the implementation of 2015 work plan amounted to 29726,68 EUR where 95 % of program’s co-financing were granted by European Economic Area Financial instruments, while the remaining 5% - from the budget of the Latvia.
