Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA.

Partial conformance means that some content or functionality does not yet fully meet the standard. Below we list the known non-conformances and the measures we are taking to address them.

Content that is not yet fully accessible

The following partial non-conformances have been identified:

• PDF and document materials

  Some downloadable PDF documents (e.g., parent guides, project reports) are not fully tagged — heading structure and image alternative text may be missing. We are gradually converting them to the accessible PDF/UA format.

• Legacy images and content

  For some older CMS content blocks, alternative-text descriptions may not be detailed. We are updating archived content gradually.

• Embedded videos

  Embedded YouTube/Vimeo videos may contain auto-generated captions that have not been reviewed by a human. We are working to provide manually edited captions for new videos.

• Third-party widgets

  Accessibility of certain third-party widgets (donation gateways, maps) depends on the provider. We are in contact with vendors to encourage improvements.

What is accessible on the website

• Page content is structured with semantic headings (h1–h4) and landmarks (header, nav, main, footer).
• All functionality is operable via keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link appears on focus.
• Focus is clearly visible on every interactive element.
• Color contrast meets WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (at least 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
• The site is responsive and supports text zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
• All informative images have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Reduced-motion preferences are respected — animations are stopped for users who request it in their operating system.
• Both light and dark color schemes are supported.
• Language switcher elements have correct `lang` and `hreflang` attributes.
